ah! i have had enough of all of this "da vinci code" narcotic intoxication!
i read the book this summer, it was both thrilling and disappointing. for the thrill part, it is one of the best examples of a cookbook approach to writing. for the other part, it just does no justice to human intellect, endeavor or critical capacity, to say nothing that it casts women in their traditional patriarchally assigned roles thus created by men with some sort of inferiority complex.
now, it is the movie, of course the movie has to be made. in a society thriving on and in instant gratification, the hollywood version must come immediately, without delay, now. that western intellectualism has devolved to immediate gratification consumerism is the kind of progress that one is well advised to question. that the expression now and here is being given a new meaning comes also as a surprise to me.
