my love for bright shinny objects remains unabated, or is it increasing.
i collect fountain pens, the bright shinny wonders precursors to PowerBooks and other gadgets. i have three of them and given the fact that i can only use one at a time, it is a collection. writing with a fountain pen with a gold nib, is well... yes, better than... no, not even on the same plane. good paper, one of my favorite fountain pens and it is happiness as long as there is ink. no, i do not own a Mont Blanc, the snob that i am would not go for something she considers so pedestrian. while i have a clear preference for gold nibs, the pens themselves are either silver, a white metal or alloy, or black with silver trimming. yes, the woman is that vain. i think of it as something more valuable and less ornamental than jewelry, but where its design and fabrication have the same attention to detail and craftsmanship.
