yesterday after the two of us shared in each other's consultation with an osteopath on the tatami of the aikikai de strasbourg i had an interesting exchange of words with a fellow whose name i tend to mess up all the time, for some reason i always want to call him something else.
he: how are you feeling?
me: the masochist in me is satisfied!
he laughs... and starts telling me about the conversation that he had with an indian man in a small village in india and who is considered insane. he asked the insane man what he thought of buddhists, and the man answered, they are all masochists. then he asked him what he thought of moslems, and the insane man answered, they are all sadists.
i looked at my fellow aikidoka and smiled.
the buddha is happy.
